Experience
Scott is the former Founder of Sales and Vice President Sales, Arbor Networks (acquired NETSCOUT) where he scaled revenues from $0 to $100M. Scott contributed immensely to the explosive growth and success of the company from 2000 to late 2008.
Prouty began his technology career in the late 1980's working for MCI Telecommunications and then Flashcom, DSL. At MCI, Scott was one of the original seven National Account Managers chosen world-wide by MCI executive leadership to form the "Investment National Accounts" program. The teams' charter was simple: target, penetrate and disrupt business with AT&T's largest national and multinational accounts. Scott was the winner of the coveted "100 Day President's Challenge Award" by closing business with the greatest number of new logos (Fleet Bank; acquired BofA, Raytheon and Thermo Fisher Scientific).
At Flashcom, as Vice President and GM, Scott founded the East Coast Operation where he oversaw the buildout of an 18,000 square foot call center in South Boston, MA. Flashcom, an early pioneer of DSL became one of the nation's largest DSL retailers.
After nearly two years with Flashcom, Prouty then joined Arbor Networks in 2000 where he founded the sales organization and was Vice President of Sales. As an early start-up with no product evaluations or revenue, Scott led the company from $0 to $100M with his team significantly overachieving year over year. Arbor became the dominant force in the DDoS market and forced its chief competitor, Asta Networks into Chapter 7.
Arbor Networks named #9 on Inc. Magazine's 500 List
Arbor was recognized in Inc Magazine’s “Annual Listing of the 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America". Arbor was ranked #9 with a growth rate of 4,650.9% (three-year period 2002, 2003,2004).
After Arbor, Scott joined Red Seal Networks as Vice President/GM Service Providers. Initially, he provided sales consulting services for Red Seal's CEO, scoring a significant win with Tata Communications. Key wins also included: Comcast Corporation, Time Warner Cable and T-Mobile yielding millions in net new business. After three years building the SP BU, Scott was then tasked with also leading the Enterprise Sales team with responsibilities covering Eastern Canada and US from Maine to Florida. Marquee new customers’ included: Liberty Mutual, Lowe’s, Navy Federal Credit Union, BNY Mellon, Marsh & McLennan, Freddie Mac, Global Payments and others.
Most recently, Prouty has worked with other early-stage technology companies in executive sales leadership roles and has served on Advisory Boards including Zilla Security, Measured Risk and Confer (acquired Carbon Black).
Scott enjoys traveling, boating in the waters from Boston to Nantucket and in the BVI's where he Captained the Permain Payout, Pisces and Yachta Fun, all 50 foot power catamarans with friends' and family. He is an avid skier and is passionate about helping early-stage and emerging technology companies accelerate revenue and forge partnerships.
